Assignement #1 – Rewrite -10 Reasons to Visit Romania

If Romania hasn‘t been your favourite travel destination, here are 10 possible reasons that could make it become one .

1. Maramures - a historic region, situated in the northern part of Romania, also called “the country of wood“.The people here have preserved unaltered traditions; they still wear traditional clothing in Maramures villages, and not just on special occasions.Their particular dance andmusic, “The Merry Cemetery” in Sapanta , the genuine homemade food and drink, are only a few of Maramures attractions.

2. Sibiu one of the most important cities of Trasylvania . “Mediaeval Sighisoara Festival“, an event that attracts tourists from all over the world, with mediaeval dance, music, knights in shinning armours, who compete in tournaments and so on.

4. The Danube Deltaone of the world‘s most extensive wetlands, where more than 1,200 species of plants and trees and, 300 species of birds and 100 species of fish live, included in UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage, in 1990.

5. The churches and monasteries – especially the painted monasteries of Bucovina and the remarkable wooden churches in Maramures (many of them declared monuments by UNESCO World Heritage).

6. The villages – in many of them one can still discover real Romanian traditions, hospitality, genuine food and a peaceful lifestyle. Through ANTREC – the National Association for Rural & Ecological Tourism, with its network of boarding houses all over the country, you can book your holiday in a Romanian village .

9. Romanian Castles & Palaces – like Bran Castle – best known as Dracula‘s Home, Peles Castle in Sinaia, now a museum, once residence of the former King Michael of Romania and Mogosoaia Palace in Bucharest, built as a princely residence, in 1702.

10. And last, but not less important, Dobogea -a historical region, considered to be an impressive open-air museum of Graeco-Roman antiquities & the Romanian Black Sea Coast – with its chain of seaside resorts, beaches with 10 to 12 hours of sunhine a day and wine-tasting tours in famous vineyards like Murfatlar, Medgidia or Niculitel.
